How long will it last? It’s one of the first questions customers ask about a natural chew—and one of the hardest to answer honestly. A chew that occupies one dog for an hour might be gone much faster for another.
That is why we created the Goose’s Good Eats Chew Meter. It keeps two important ideas separate: how resistant the product itself is, and how long dogs with similar sizes and chewing styles have actually spent with it.
We’re beginning with one chew
For now, the meter covers our large 12-inch bully stick. Its Goose’s house durability rating is 70 out of 100—Strong. That score describes the chew’s general resistance based on qualities such as size, thickness, and density. It is not a promise of chew time and it is not a safety rating.
How the community estimate works
When you choose Estimate for my dog, the meter uses your dog’s weight and chewing style to find the closest available group of approved reports. It does not create a personal profile.
We wait until a matching group has at least five approved reports before showing its first public range. After that, the estimate updates as more approved experiences are added. Reports are reviewed so incomplete or clearly unreliable entries do not distort the result.
Your report matters—even before a range appears
If the meter says we are still collecting information, that does not mean your entry disappeared. It means the closest group has not yet reached the five-report minimum. Every helpful report brings that group closer to a useful community estimate.
A guide, never a guarantee
Natural chews vary, and so do dogs. Always supervise from the first bite to the last, choose an appropriate size, and remove any piece that becomes small enough to swallow, sharp, cracked, or otherwise concerning. Ask your veterinarian about your dog’s dental health and whether a particular chew is appropriate.
